Walking tall with the Buddha

With ample of warm sunshine and the pleasant weather, it was a perfect day to go to the park today. I had wanted to go there again and take pictures for the blog ever since the last time I was there with a friend :). With lots of holidays on roll and nothing to do at home, I could finally make it to the park today. I just basked in the warm sun, took a stroll around and click click a lot of pictures. So happiness=UNLIMITED ^_^.

I’m just wondering how on earth I ever missed this park. A lot of people were seen having picnics with their family. Couples of canopy and white cute slab benches are everywhere where one can sit, enjoy the surroundings or even meditate in the serene environment. Or if that’s not your thing, one can take a stroll and enjoy the Thimphu Chhu flowing by or the archery game played on the other side of the river.

Situated in the heart of the town, the Centenary Park is the home to the 45-feet statue of walking Buddha. The statue was gifted by the people of Thailand on the occasion of 84th Birth Anniversary of Thailand’s king and the Wedding anniversary of His Majesty the King. It took exactly 48 days to complete the statue.
Here are some of the pictures from the park.

Wishing you happy holidays.
