Wouldn’t you like to know something
more about the person behind the blog that you follow? Or you just read their
blog update and never bother to go further to find something about the blogger
behind?
If I stumble across a new blog and find worth spending my time, I immediately go over to the ‘About Me’ page and dig it to know more about the mastermind behind.
Blogging is fairly new in
Bhutan. There is just a handful of Bhutanese blogger. Everybody knows who is
who in this small community of ours. Two years back when I started this blog, I
blogged without a real identity for the fear of being judged. It was
only after a year that I gained some confidence and continued on with my real
name.
Things are changing now. Every new
day, a new blog is born and more and more young and enthusiastic bloggers are
on the row. Sadly a few of the earlier enthusiatic bloggers have disappeared altogether.
Nevertheless, we have our inspiring
and enthusiastic Prime Minister who is a blogger and blogs at www.tsheringtobgay.com
Blogger
Conference or meet is something which will take some time for Bhutan to
initiate and embrace. What if there is no blogger conference or meet in Bhutan,
we are going to have our own blogger meet in this little space of mine here
today.
To start off, I’ve done a few
Q&A about myself and this little space of mine. It’s a small introduction
to my space and I would like to tag a few fellow bloggers to play along with
me. I would like you to answer the following questions in your blog and create
a post out of it. You can add more if you like and let us share some love and
grow this little community of ours.
After that you tag your other blogger freinds.
In case you are not tagged, you can tag
yourself and play along. Here’s my story.
Q: Why did you start blogging in the first place? And what’s the story
behind your blog title?
Writing has always been a hobby for
me. While in school, I used to write for the school’s newsletter and magazines
and used to maintain a journal. Now that I’ve this blog, writing in my journal
has become a thing of the past. Starting this blog has opened up boundaries for
me which I’ve never been able to venture beyond and lately I’ve been addicted
to blogging, if I’m not writing, I stalk a lot of blogs.
Soon after
I joined the civil service, I wanted to pursue my hobby aside my 9-5 job. Thus,
this blog was born. Initially it was hard for me to come up with blog posts and
I blogged mostly on things that were around me, happened to me which had both
positive and negative impacts and were related to me. Thus, the blog title i Relate To That. Therefore, this blog
is more of a personal blog, ramblings of a twenty something on life’s little
pleasures and frustrations from a tiny Himalayan country.
Q: How long have you been blogging? Where are you
based?
For two
years and a half approximately and I’m based in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.
Q: How do you schedule your blog post? Daily or weekly?
Or as and when inspiration strikes you?
I don’t
have a definite schedule to do a blog post. I’m more of a random blogger, I
like to post as and when I write provided the internet connectivity is
available and good. In the initial two years, I used to make a point to do at
least 1 blog post a month. However, in the last four months I’ve been quite
steady to come up with more posts, which I’m proud of myself. :).
Q: Does your family and friends know about your blog?
Uh…well,
like I said earlier blogging is fairly new in Bhutan, so not much people know about my blog. Also,
I do not talk about my blog to people. It’s more of a private thing to me at
least for now. However, I don’t mind if people know about my blog. Only my
brother and cousin in the family know about this babe of mine apart from a few
friends.
Interestingly,
we have a larger number of male bloggers in Bhutan than female (Just a personal
observation). But I’m sure most of the Bhutanese bloggers agree on this. What keeps
the women folks from the enchanting blogosphere is something I need to find out
yet.
Whoah! See
I’ve told a lot about myself in this ‘little’ post. On this note, I’m tagging
the following bloggers:
Passang from PaSsu Diary
Sweta from Symphony
Yeshi from Hear My Voice
Ngawang from Penstar
Rachna from Rachna's Scriptorium
Let's hear it from you.
